Profile
Dr Constantina Lazaridou is a Lecturer in Law at Queen Mary University of London. She teaches EU law and Family Law at the undergraduate level. She is the module convenor of EU Trade Law at postgraduate level. She is also the Programme Director for Law LLB.
Prior to joining Queen Mary in 2024, Dr Lazaridou was a Lecturer in Law and Course Leader of the Law LLB Programme, at Buckinghamshire New University. She received her PhD in 2023 from the University of Birmingham, her LLM from the University of Reading and LLB from Cardiff University.
she is also an inactive member of the Cyprus Bar Association since 2017, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK.
Research
- European Union Law – more specifically with a focus on the interaction between fundamental economic freedoms and fundamental human rights, looking at the European Court of Justice’s approach.
- General protection of fundamental human rights under EU Law and their relationship to the ECHR.
- AI and human rights implications at the European Union level.
Work in progress
I am currently working on publishing my PhD as a monograph – ‘Fundamental Economic Freedoms Vs Fundamental Human Rights: An Unresolved Legal Conundrum for the European Court of Justice.’
