Eduardo Mercadante

Profile

Eduardo is a PhD candidate in the Department of International Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), under the supervision of Professor Ken Shadlen (LSE) and Professor Bhaven Sampat (Arizona State University). His PhD thesis investigates the role of patent examination in promoting the balanced private and public incentives that underpin the rationale for pharmaceutical patenting, using Brazil as a case study of the challenges of implementing this policy in a developing country.
