What influenced your decision to choose a LLM at Queen Mary?

I was highly motivated by the fact that the United Kingdom is one of the financial capitals of the world. More specifically, I decided on Queen Mary because it offered one of the most competitive and complete programmes, as well as a variety of high-level experts, giving me the certainty that I was making the right choice.

How did you find the teaching and learning?

Exciting and enriching. I had a substantial amount of material at my reach, which served not only to get a better understanding of the topics, but also to tame curiosity. Moreover, professors and tutorials improved my understanding on important matters, and made me feel more comfortable to share my comments and doubts.

What was key about your programme/ were there any highlights?

I would say the interaction with a variety of experts, not only as professors, but also as guest lecturers. In addition, the fact that modules were designed to cover all of the necessary perspectives of my specialisation, even the most up to date debates.

What piece of insight or advice would you offer for future students?

Making the experience at Queen Mary count from the beginning, balancing the intellectual achievements with the social and networking opportunities. Also, to avoid self-limitations when selecting modules, including some that seem daring, as you may find a whole world of knowledge and possibilities you did not know existed.

Has gaining a deeper understanding of your specialisation helped your career?

Definitely, it gave me the confidence to make a significant change in my professional exercise. I am now working in the financial sector, serving my country from the supervisory body of the financial system.

What was your best experience of studying at QMUL?

Being part of a group of wonderful people and their culture, starting from the professors, the classmates and the ones I can now call friends.
