Queen Mary Law Journal Licensing Policy

Our licensing policy ensures that your work is protected and accessible. This page explains the types of licenses we offer, your rights as an author, and how your work will be shared with the academic community.

Authors retain copyright to their work and grant QMLJ the right to publish it under this license. There are no publication fees for authors, and they maintain ownership of their intellectual property while contributing to a global exchange of legal scholarship.

Upon acceptance, authors are required to sign the QMLJ Licensing Agreement to grant QMLJ the right to publish their work.

To allow readers to share and adapt the work for non-commercial purposes, provided appropriate credit is given and any adaptations are shared under the same license, all articles published in QMLJ are provided to be licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license.

Here’s what the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 License entails:

  • Attribution (BY): Readers are free to reuse the literary and creative content published by QMLJ, provided they give appropriate credit to the original creator (the author).
  • NonCommercial (NC): Reuse is allowed for non-commercial purposes only.
  • ShareAlike (SA): Adaptations must be shared under the same terms.
  • International (4.0): This license applies globally.

By adhering to this license, QMLJ ensures that scholarly content remains accessible while respecting the rights of both authors and readers and maintaining its Open-Access goals.
