The School of Law at Queen Mary University of London is one of the largest in the UK, and over half of our students come from the EU or other overseas countries. Entry requirements
LLB Law, LLB Global Law, LLB English and European Law, LLB Law and Politics, LLB Law with Business: Candidates are required to have either the Certificat d’Enseignement Secondaire Supérieur (CESS), the Diploma van Hoger Secundair Onderwijs (GHSO) or the Abschlusszeugnis der Oberstufe des Sekundarunterrichts with either 80%, 9 out of 10 or 18 out of 20, depending on the grading scale. An average will be taken from your final three years to determine the overall grade.
English and French Law Double Degree: As above but must also include an acceptable French Language qualification such as/equivalent to UK GCE A-Level French grade A, or DELF at B2 level.
Common alternatives for students studying at an international school would be the International Baccalaureate, A-levels, the Cambridge Pre-U, or the European Baccalaureate. View the entry requirements for these qualifications.
Applicants studying the schooling system of a different country (such as the USA high school diploma) should return to the country listing and visit the relevant page.
LLB Law Senior Status: Applicants should have a Licence (French) or Licenciaat (Dutch) with 14/20 or 70% overall.

Please note that pre-sessional English courses are available, however, these are for students who have failed to meet our requirements in one of the recognised qualifications. We prefer students to achieve the required grade in the first instance.

Can I use my degree in Belgium?
Lots of students ask us how they can use their degree in their home country. Whether you chose to stay in the UK, or return home, you will normally be expected to take further exams after the LLB. The Law Society website is a useful resource for finding out how to qualify in Belgium.

Financing your studies
The School of Law offers undergraduate bursaries and scholarships to a number of students each year, currently these range from £1,000 to £14,000 per annum. Different awards have different eligibility criteria and applications and interviews are processed post-enrolment in October/November.
