Welcome to our page for students from Tanzania. The School of Law at Queen Mary University of London is one of the largest in the UK, and over half of our students come from the EU or other overseas countries. As a result we are committed to ensuring your experience applying to and studying with us is a positive one.
We hope the information on this page is helpful. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

The most common English proficiency qualifications and their entry requirements are as follows.
Please note that pre-sessional English courses are available, however, these are for students who have failed to meet our requirements in one of the recognised qualifications. We prefer students to achieve the required grade in the first instance
For a full list of recognised proficiency qualifications, and for more information, please visit the English language requirements web page. If you have trouble determining whether or not you satisfy these requirements please email lawugadm@qmul.ac.uk
It is not our policy to encourage unnecessary documentation such as extra letters of recommendation, non-academic certificates, and so on. However, if you have interim/completed transcripts which are vital for our consideration, please send a colour scan to law-admissions@qmul.ac.uk and be sure to include your full name as it appears on your UCAS form, as well as your UCAS personal ID number. This is for students whereby the UCAS format does not allow them to provide their grades. If you are unsure whether or not we require your information then please wait, we will always contact students if key details are missing, and will not process applications without them.
Lots of students ask us how they can use their degree in their home country. Whether you chose to stay in the UK, or return home, you will normally be expected to take further exams after the LLB. The best way to find out what to expect is to contact the association which governs the legal practitioners in your country. They will be able to tell you what you will need to do to qualify as a lawyer, and this will help you decide whether to qualify in the UK after you graduate or whether it is more beneficial to return home straight away.
