Student card of Dr L.G.Whitehead, alumni and former staff of Queen Mary College.

Leslie Whitehead spent at least 30 years at Queen Mary College as a student and lecturer. He gained a 1st class honours degree in Engineering in 1936 and a PHD in 1939, researching aerodynamics and aircraft structure.

He joined the Department of Aeronautics in 1938 as a Research Assistant and was still on the staff as a Reader in Aeronautics in 1968.
