Jisc will be retiring their Historical Texts and Journal Archives resources on 31 July, when the current licence expires.

Jisc Historical Texts is composed of four collections: Early English Books Online (EEBO), Eighteenth Century Collections Online (ECCO), the British Library 19th Century collection and the UK Medical Heritage Library (UKMH).

The British Library 19th Century collection and the UK Medical Heritage Library are freely available online.

Queen Mary Library Services have purchased access to EEBO and ECCO via alternative suppliers: EEBO via ProQuest and ECCO via Gale.

The ProQuest version of EEBO is accessible now.

The Gale version of ECCO should become accessible from 1 August.

Library Services believe that a significant proportion of the JISC Journal Archives content is already accessible at Queen Mary through other subscriptions.  For content not already covered by existing subscriptions at Queen Mary, other access options are available such as Inter Library Loan.

In preparation for the retirement of Jisc Historical Texts and Journal Archives, Queen Mary Library Services are updating our platforms: adding and removing resources as appropriate.

If you have any questions or concerns about this announcement, please don't hesitate to get in touch with Library Services at library@qmul.ac.uk.
