Academic Life: Entrance and scholarship examination paper, May 1915
Entry to Westfield College was controlled through an entrance examination until 1964. From this date onwards applicants needed to meet the entry requirements of the University of London.
The examination paper also determined who would be awarded College scholarships, which were usually for a period of three years. The first two scholarships offered by Westfield were for £40, which today (2010) would be worth approximately £1900.
