THE CAROLINE SKEEL ARCHIVES READING ROOM

The Archives can be accessed by users in the Caroline Skeel Archives Reading Room on the 2nd Floor of the Mile End Library.  The room was opened in October 2009. It is a purpose build facility dedicated to users of the Archives. The room is open Monday to Friday 9.30 to 4.45pm. Access to the collections is supervised by archive staff, who are always on hand to assist users to search the Archives Catalogue and locate material in the collections.

The room is named after Caroline Skeel (1872-1951), historian and classicist who established the History Department at Westfield College and was also responsible for the College Library from 1902. To find out more about Caroline Skeel’s archives and Westfield College see the collections listed in Archive Bookmarks.
