Access

Queen Mary Library e-resources are available to all staff and students. You may be prompted to enter your Queen Mary credentials to authenticate to our resources. More information on Multi-Factor Authentication can be found on ITS pages.

General issues with your Queen Mary username and password (those that affect access to QMplus, Microsoft products or WiFi), should be reported to the IT Helpdesk, by phone at 8888 or email (its-helpdesk@qmul.ac.uk).

On campus:

Most on-campus authentication is automatic, meaning that resources will identify that you are accessing from the University network, and will allow access. A few resources require authentication with Queen Mary credentials on campus, and you will be prompted to do so.

A small number require additional steps to register: 

The Art Newspaper 

First-time users, register on the Art Newspaper registration page using your Queen Mary email address. You will receive a verification email. Please follow the prompts in the verification email to complete your account registration.   

The Economist 

You need to register using your Queen Mary email to access the Economist. On first use register and create a password from the Economist registration page

iLaw

You need to register (with your Queen Mary username in the format ab12345@qmul.ac.uk to access iLaw. Choose ‘Register here’ on the iLaw log-in page then register with your Queen Mary email and Queen Mary University of London as the company. 

CAS SciFinder N   

First-time users, register on the SciFinder registration page your account using Queen Mary email when prompted. 

BMJ Learning

You need to register with your Queen Mary email address and password to use BMJ Learning. 

ClinicalKey

You need to register an individual account in order to access ClinicalKey e-books. Instructions can be found here: How do I access ClinicalKey? - LibAnswers

Off-campus:

Off-campus access to e-resources requires authentication using your Queen Mary username credentials and password.  

Some resources require registration on your first use:  

  • The Art Newspaper (see ‘on campus’ instructions, above) 
  • i-Law (see 'on campus' instructions above)
  • Lexology  
  • Cochrane Library 
  • BMJ Learning (see 'on campus' instructions above)
  • The Economist (see 'on campus' instructions above)

Some resources such as Box of Broadcasts, and The Financial Times are unavailable outside the United Kingdom.
