Request Resources

Requesting books and other resources for purchase over the summer

Usually, at the end of April, we close book ordering for the remainder of the academic year in order to meet university budget management requirements.  For summer 2021 we are delighted to announce that will be aiming continue accepting and processing orders for new books throughout.  This means you can continue to request books for purchase, not already held in the collections or not available in the format that you need.

Tips for ordering resources for Queen Mary collections:

  1. Search for the item on LibrarySearch to check if we have it already
  2. Consider whether it is something you need us to buy the whole item, whether a scan of a chapter would be enough, or whether it is something we can borrow for you from elsewhere via Inter-library Loan or Document Supply (ILL)
  3. If you would like us to purchase the resource, complete the More Books at Your Request form
  4. Please allow 3 weeks for the resource to be received

Scans of chapters and other materials being trialled until end of June 2021

We are running a trial scanning service for chapters and articles from our print collections.  This service is available until the end of June in the first instance.

Tips for requesting something to be scanned:

  1. Search for the item on LibrarySearch to check if we have it already
  2. If we don't have the item you are looking for, place a request for purchase via the form, or consider whether it is something we can borrow for you from elsewhere via  (ILL)
  3. If we have it in the collections, and you would like to request a scan of a chapter or article, complete the form, including the copyright statement for the scanning service
  4. Please allow 2 weeks for scans to be processed
