Research and Innovation
Our academic staff are engaged in making new discoveries and important connections – from 3D audio technology that allows you to browse a playlist to a new diagnostic test for pancreatic cancer.
We are always looking for the right partners to develop research outputs and, where appropriate, take them to the marketplace.
We have a strong track record on research spin-outs and student start-ups (e.g. Apatech spin-out, which was sold for $330m). Through Queen Mary Innovation, the commercialisation arm of Queen Mary, the University has had a number of notable successes such as the AIM listed companies Actual Experience Plc; hVIVO Plc and fast growing AI company LANDR Audio Inc.
