We will focus on the financial sector and the booming field of risk management, explore careers working with data and share expert advice on how to secure these jobs, even if you don't have a background in mathematics or analysis.
You will also get a demo on Machine Learning with Python based on a postgraduate module taught across most of our masters programmes.

Lloyd is an actuary and statistician with a career spanning pensions, insurance and asset management industries. As a managing director at UK consultancy Crowe, Lloyd is responsible for helping companies understand the potential impacts of climate change on their business.
Melania is the Programme Director for MSc Actuarial Science and Data Analytics at Queen Mary. She obtained her PhD in Economics at London School of Economics, where she worked on applications of economic theory. Before joining Queen Mary, Melania was Programme Director for all taught postgraduate Actuarial Science programmes at University of Kent.
Nicola is a Reader in Applied Mathematics at the School of Mathematical Science. His research focuses on human dynamics, data analytics, network science, mathematical and digital epidemiology. After completing his PhD in theoretical physics at the University of Cagliari (Italy), he held various positions at Indiana University, Northeastern University, and Greenwich University.
