The School of Mathematical Sciences runs a range of training sessions for PhD students to develop skills for their future careers, organised by Dr Reem Yassawi.

Training sessions include:

• Using your doctorate in industry
• How to evaluate a grant application
• Fielding interview questions
• Creating a good cv (academic, industrial)
• Writing good cover letters
• Writing good teaching and research statements
• How to give a good interview talk vs a good specialist talk
• Interdisciplinary thinking
• Alumni academic and industrial experiences

There is also a range of doctoral training available in the Faculty of Science and Engineering and across the University.
