In this session on policymaking in the Digital Revolution, we'll be joined by James Plunkett, the author of End State: 9 Ways Society is Broken and How We Fix It

We are delighted to be welcoming James Plunkett, Citizen Advice's Executive Director and the author of End State: 9 Ways Society is Broken and How We Fix It, to the Mile End Institute.

As a former Policy Adviser to then Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, and Director of Policy for the Resolution Foundation, James has spent his career thinking about the complicated relationships between individuals and the state and has a deep understanding of how economic change affects people's lives.

In this session, chaired by the MEI's Deputy Director, Dr Karl Pike, James will talk about End State, outline nine ways in which our social settlement can be upgraded to harness the power of the digital age, and explain how to influence policymaking in the 'Digital Revolution'. We will also be joined by Jessica Studdert, the Deputy Chief Executive of New Local, and the former civil servant, Dr Philippa Lloyd.

This event is open to all and there will be opportunities for you to put your questions to some of Britain's most innovative public policy experts.

This event will be held in the Fogg Lecture Theatre on the ground floor of the G.E. Fogg building on QMUL's Mile End campus. It will start at 6.30pm and be followed by a short drinks reception.
