Overlap: In taking this module you cannot take SPA4122
Prerequisite: Before taking this module you must ( take MTH4101 or take MTH4201 or take MTH4300 or take MTH4400 ) and ( take MTH4115 or take MTH4215 )

This module provides an introduction to the differential of curves and surfaces. The core of the module deals with developing the language and tools for studying, describing and quantifying the geometry of curved objects. Particular emphasis is placed on connecting geometric questions with ideas from Calculus and Linear Algebra, as well as on extending Calculus to curved settings. The module concludes by studying some landmark results in vector Calculus e.g. Lagrange multipliers, Green's theorem and Stokes' theorem.
