Sandraobtained her qualifications as a surgeon and a specialist in Psychiatry at the Universidad del Valle, Cali, Colombia. She then trained as a Liaison Psychiatric Specialist at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. She was part of the work team of the National Mental Health Study, Colombia 2015, in the area of Mental Health Disorders. She performs her clinical practice at the Clínicas Médicas de la Pontifica Universidad Javeriana, she is linked as a professor at the Department of Psychiatry of the Universidad del Valle and the Department of Medical Clinics of the Pontifica Universidad Javeriana, Cali since 2012. Through her teaching experience she has applied training simulation in psychiatric interviews for medical students.
