Global health seminars occur quarterly anf focus on promoting discussions and thinking around global health across different disciplines.

 

16th January 2019 - Philip Messent

In our first seminar of 2019 we provided an update on the progress of the NIHR Global Mental Health Research Group as well as a talk from Philip Messent on his work around systemic and family therapy in Bangladesh Mental Health Services.

 

 

29th May 2019 - Marcelo Santos Cruz

The NIHR Global Health Research Group provided an update on its recent activities, as well as a talk from Marcelo Santos Cruz regarding his research on substance abuse and violence in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

 

10th July 2019 - Sabina Slatina, Maja Muhic & Sandra Ramirez

In this seminar we were joined by three of our researchers who are working on implementing our projects in their home countries of Bosnia Herzegovina and Colombia as part of our NIHR Global Health Research Group. In addition to providing an update on how the projects are going, they presented an overview of the context of mental health care in Bosnia and Colombia, and how our research activities can supplement health care in both countries.

13th November 2019 - Dave Baillie

The NIHR Global Health Research Group provided their usual updates, followed by our guest speaker Dr Dave Baillie, speaking about the numerous projects that he is involved in in Uganda through the East London- Butabika link.
