Reading recommendations

Here are three books that will give you a particularly good insight into the critical and interdisciplinary way that we teach global health at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry - Queen Mary University of London: 

• The Spirit Level: Why Equality is Better for Everyone by Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett
• Reimagining Global Health by Paul Farmer, Jim Yong Kim, Arthur Kleinman, and Matthew Basilico
• The Body Economic: Why Austerity Kills by David Stuckler, and Sanjay Basu. 

If you're keen to do some wider reading, this is an excellent list of global health related literature. 

Film recommendations

There are also plenty of films that will help you better understand global public health. This is quite a comprehensive list of documentaries and movies. Some of them can be watched free online.
