Our MRes degrees offer opportunities for you to benefit from wider networks and funding to cover your MRes and PhD.
This means you can collaborate with students at other institutions and industry partners to gain a broader understanding. You may also be able to apply for a fully funded studentship for your 4 years of study (MRes + PhD).
Successful applicants will receive fully funded studentships including a stipend, tuition fees, research and training costs for the 4 years of study. Students will also be able to apply to the Transition Fund in their final year to assist in successfully navigating the next stage in their career.
We provide support for work and industry placements for doctoral students reaching the end of their PhD and transitioning into new roles. As well as working closely with the NHS, we have access to industry partners through MedCity’s Collaborate to Innovate programme. Students can access an eight-week QIncubator programme and other careers support offered by the Careers and Enterprise team. This means you’ll be fully prepared to move onto a new role when you complete your PhD.
In this programme, you will cover core modules in research design, qualitative and quantitative methods. This gives you the opportunity to expand your professional network, as you share these modules with students from King’s College London and Imperial College, as part of the training offered by the London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (LISS DTP).
These programmes are approved pathways for ESRC funding, which could cover the costs of both the MRes and a PhD.
