The School of Politics and International Relations offers high-quality teaching in a range of relevant programmes that are informed by our research.
International Relations
International Relations is our most popular postgraduate course. It offers a fascinating range of optional modules that cut across current issues such as globalisation, migration, public policy, international security and more. It’s an ideal programme for those who may not have the background in International Relations but are interested in gaining this knowledge in an academic setting.
International Business and Politics
Queen Mary is the only UK university that offers this programme, one which gives students a chance to understand politics and international business from different perspectives, while studying in one of the world’s financial capitals - and the UK's political epicenter.
International Public Policy
The International Public Policy MSc is developed by staff who have worked in the domain prior to teaching, so have hands-on experience in the creation of public policy. The programme also has strong links to practitioners who sometimes present as guest lecturers.
Public Policy
The Public Policy programme centres on British politics but offers a comparative element which gives students optional modules in international security, migration, and more. Students will learn theory and concepts and explore real life examples through case studies allowing students to apply their knowledge.
