Read our student stories to find out more about what it's like to study a masters programme at Queen Mary.

"After my business degree, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. Choosing to study a conversion course at Queen Mary was my first step in the right direction. A few weeks into the programme, I was already surprised by how much I had learnt! I really liked that everyone was new to IT and our teachers were both patient and passionate about their subjects, which boosted my motivation to study. The practical labs brought it all to life and the ability to choose the second-semester subjects gave me great flexibility. I met lots of amazing people, joined the Enactus society, volunteered at a foodbank, attended hackathons and employer events. Queen Mary has so much to offer, loads of services and societies that everyone can choose something amazing that will end up expanding your horizon!"

"I am currently working as an AI Engineer in a fintech company. My role consists of NLP model retraining and the chatbot’s daily conversational review. I’m responsible for the natural language agents; fine-tuning and retraining the model based on production dialogue. Being able to successfully use and practice in the industry what I was taught at university has been very rewarding. As well as the knowledge that I acquired, Queen Mary helped to prepare me with hands-on practice, teamwork and industry experience."
— Keith Vella, MSc Artificial Intelligence, 2019
"I found Big Data Science to be the perfect programme for me. I had previously studied Economics and Finance and was hoping to learn coding. The course was comprehensive, with various modules pertaining to machine learning and big data to choose from. What I liked the most about the course was the excellent student community as well as the course content itself. I enjoyed learning more about programming from my coursemates, who had vastly different academic backgrounds from mine."
— Tanmaiyii Rao, Data Analyst at KPMG, MSc Big Data Science, 2020
