Time: 6:30 - 8:30pm Venue: Fogg Lecture Theatre, Mile End Campus
You are cordially invited to the second event under the Centre for European Research, our Book Launch entitled ‘Europe at the Crossroads: insights from the Arab Spring, domestic politics and the Lisbon Strategy’.
This event will be the occasion to launch three new books published by Palgrave, all of them by Centre researchers – Dr. Sarah Wolff’s The Mediterranean Dimension of EU's Internal Security, Dr. Francoise Boucek’s Factional Politics: How Dominant Parties Implode or Stabilize, and Dr. Paul Copeland’s The EU's Lisbon Strategy. Evaluating Success, Understanding Failure (which he co-edited with Dimitris Papadimitriou).
The event will enable a broader debate on EU security/foreign policy, domestic politics in Europe as well as economic and social policies. It will be chaired by Roger Liddle, currently Opposition Spokesperson for Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the House of Lords and former advisor to UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair, and José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission.
The event will take place on Queen Mary’s Mile End campus, directions can be found here in the Fogg Lecture Theatre, point 13 on this map.
The event will be followed by a drinks reception, where a limited number of copies of the publications will be available.
