The panellists will discuss the main implications of a growing sense of English nationhood for British politics, especially for current debates about the future of the United Kingdom and the UK’s position in European Union. They will also consider Kenny’s argument that a number of other social trends - including the rise of economic insecurity, an increase in inequality and resentment between the main social classes, and disillusion with mainstream politics - are connected to the rise of English nationhood.
