Professor Tim Bale, Alan Johnson interview

12 February 2015 Labour is endangering its chance of election victory by disowning the party’s 13 years in power under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, warns Alan Johnson in an interview with Newsweek. Commenting on Johnson’s view that Labour has to demonstrate economic competence while presenting an alternative to relentless cuts, Professor Tim Bale said: “It’s the holy grail of every opposition… On the one hand, to show that you are going to deliver the radical change people are crying out for at the same time as convincing them you can run the show.”
