- Receive hands-on training in a range of different techniques from interviewing to the analysis of genome-wide data in our state-of-the-art facilities. These include the Electroencephalography (EEG) lab and the Behavioural Lab, where computer-based experiments are run using psychological software tools such as E-Prime 2.0
- Collect your own empirical data through a substantial 12-month research project to answer questions surrounding the causes and possible treatments of mental illness using healthy populations or animal models.
- Benefit from the research expertise of two schools – The Department of Biological and Experimental Psychology at the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences and the Centre for Psychiatry within the School of Medicine and Dentistry, a world leading institution in research on cultural, social and environmental aspects of public mental health research, which found itself ranked 5th the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014.
