Each year QMUL welcomes a number of PhD students who are funded by wide variety of research charities and cultural organisations.
These funding opportunities are typically connected to a particular PhD project and are advertised throughout the year on our School and Institute webpages as well as on our central funding pages.
Within our Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, QMUL currently hosts a number of PhD students funded by collaborative AHRC awards with cultural institutions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum of Childhood, the Ragged School Museum, and the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich.
We currently have PhD students in our Institute of Medicine and Dentistry funded by the Wellcome Trust, National Institutes of Health, Cancer Research UK, National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), Diabetes UK, Breast Cancer Campaign, British Skin Foundation, Rayne Foundation, Prostate Cancer Charity, Saving Faces, and the British Heart Foundation.
In particular, QMUL welcomes applications to the Wellcome Trust and National Institutes for Health PhD Studentships which fund collaborative PhD training at academic laboratories both at QMUL and at the National Institutes of Health in the USA.
