Lambeth Country Show
Apply now to be part of Queen Mary's Lambeth Country Show booth!
We’re excited to invite staff and students to take part in one of London’s biggest free family festivals – the Lambeth Country Show.
Where: Brockwell Park, Brixton
When: Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June 2025
Combining the best of the city and countryside, this two-day celebration attracts over 120,000 people with a packed programme of street food, local crafts, retail, health and wellbeing and much more. The CPE has secured a Queen Mary booth under the ‘STEM Big Top’ where we will be joining other STEM-based organisations to engage attendees with science
Why get involved?
This is a fantastic opportunity for those who work in STEM to showcase your work, engage with local communities, and bring Queen Mary’s STEM research, creativity, and impact to a wider public audience.
What we’re looking for:
At both events, we’re curating a QM stall with public engagement tabletop activities (i.e. an activity, game, craft, demonstration, etc. that can take place on a trestle table). If you have an idea that:
- Is hands-on, interactive and family-friendly
- Sparks conversation, curiosity, or learning
- Engages the public
Then apply to join us at the show!

We are currently accepting applications for tabletop activities at Lambeth Country Show and New Scientist Live. To apply, please complete our quick and easy Microsoft Form.

We welcome applications from staff and students at all career stages—and this is not used as a criterion in the selection process.
- Lead applicants must be the individuals who will be responsible for delivering the project and subsequent reporting. External applicants can apply to the scheme as named co-applicants if collaborating with Queen Mary staff or students on a project.

- Funds must be spent by 31 July 2025.
Important Notes:
- Successful applicants will have access to ONE table only. You may not request multiple tables or additional space as the space is very limited.
- You can apply to participate in both festivals, but successful applicants will only be given a spot at ONE festival on ONE day. This is to ensure as many people as possible can participate.
- Booth amenities
- The booths at both festivals will not have access to water.
- At New Scientist Live wifi is available for £120 per device and there is an additional cost for a 500W socket (£181.60).
- At Lambeth Country Show there is no wifi. Access to power/electricity costs £200 per socket.
- Given the high costs for wifi and sockets we encourage applicants to design activities that do not rely on these utilities!!
