Founders don’t need legal nightmares: qLegal follows the story of an entrepreneur

qLegal has unveiled a new video titled “Founders don’t need legal nightmares”, produced by Telaron. The video captures the journey of Fibe, a sustainable fashion start-up co-founded by Idan Gal-Shohet.

The video follows Gal-Shohet as he builds Fibe and overcomes key legal challenges with the support of qLegal. Thanks to qLegal’s support, Fibe was eventually able to strategically secure its intellectual property (IP) rights, crucially safeguarding its innovative work in producing fibers from potato waste for the fashion industry.

Highlighting the value of early-stage legal support, the video underscores how access to initiatives like qLegal can be pivotal for start-up success. Fibe’s growth, particularly in IP protection for patents, has played a critical role in its commercial development and ability to partner with forward-thinking fashion brands.

Fibe’s experience demonstrates the advantages of qLegal’s tailored support, especially in navigating complex commercial and IP issues. The partnership enabled Fibe to understand which legal matters were most pressing and for staff to develop an understanding of the importance of addressing these early on for sustainable growth.

Clemence Tanzi, qLegal Teaching Fellow and Externships Programme Lead, shared her enthusiasm for the programme’s impact: “Collaborating with innovative start-ups like Fibe offers our students invaluable, real-world experience while supporting businesses that drive positive change. The Externships programme exemplifies our commitment to experiential learning and community engagement.”

The video was shot in April 2024, with several qLegal students contributing to the video as extras, playing copycats of Fibe’s founder in the video.
