Exam timetables

Your examination timetable will be published on MySIS. It is important to check this as it is updated to ensure you have time to query anything you may be unsure about

This page records information about the formal Queen Mary examination periods held in January (Sem A modules), May (Sem B and Year-Long modules) and August (resits). This information is not related to in-class tests, coursework, dissertations, practicals and mid-term exams and any other type of assessment organised by your School/Institute or held outside the formal examination periods. For queries about those assessments, please contact your School/Institute.

Your formal exam timetable will be published in MySIS. It will tell you when your examination is taking place, where your exam is (either physical venue or online) and what your seat number is. If you have any problems with your timetable, please email the Exams Team as soon as possible via exams@qmul.ac.uk.

Any assessments arranged by your School/Institute (e.g. exams that take place outside of the Queen Mary exam periods in January, May and August) will not appear on your MySIS timetable.

*Due to the short period of time between official results release and the late summer examination period, please be advised that you will not receive as much notice of your individual exam timetable as you receive ahead of the January and May examinations.

Please be aware that these dates are subject to change.

Late summer resit period

The Late Summer Resit (LSR) examination period 2024/25 will take place between the 04 - 15 August 2025.

Examinations held will be resits and first sits. Your LSR examination timetable will be available via your MySIS portal - view our expected publication dates. Neither the Exams Office or your School/Institute will be able to confirm the date of any exam ahead of the timetable being officially published.

Please be advised that the Exams Office does not decide whether you should sit an examination in August or not. If you have any questions about whether you are eligible to sit an exam during the LSR's, please direct them to your School/Institute

More information concerning re-sits/first sits including the number of attempts you are permitted to take for a module can be found in the Academic Regulations. Your Results release dates are published online.

Please consider the following

  • Do not make vacation arrangements that will involve you being away before the formal end of the exam period, this is due to the occasional and unavoidable necessity to change the date of an exam.
  • Please note that it is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with the day, time and location of your exams. It is also your responsibility to obtain a copy of your individual timetable, to check for and raise any possible errors with the Exams Team via exams@qmul.ac.uk as soon as possible.
  • If you have registered for modules at another University of London college then the details of the exam will be sent to you once we receive them from the relevant college; this is normally during the Easter vacation. If you do not receive this information, contact the Exams Office at the university teaching the module.
