Lifelong health and wellbeing

Improving the health and wellbeing of people across the globe.

London roots, global health

Our home in the East End is a window on the world. Our partnerships with local hospitals and boroughs combined with the most diverse patient data in the UK  and our leading health research expertise mean we are transforming medicine not only for our neighbours but also communities across the globe.

Inclusive health is innovative health

Health research which reflects the diversity of our community is not only the right thing to do, it is driving exciting breakthroughs. Projects like 100,000 Genomes have made genomic medicine a reality for NHS patients, attracted millions in investment from industry and put the East End on the global life sciences map.

The Whitechapel Model

Queen Mary and St Barts School of Medicine’s unique geography and history have fostered a way of working that sees discovery, innovation and community development as all vital to wellbeing. Our new Life Sciences Cluster will be a home for this work and a place to discover our approach to 21st Century health and wellbeing.
