Profile
Bio: After finishing my PhD in Bioscience Engineering at KU Leuven, Belgium, I moved to Imperial College London to take on the current project on directed evolution of Photosystem II. With microbial genetic engineering as a core expertise, I am working on diverse fronts of directed evolution in Cyanobacteria, e.g. mutant libraries, HTS methods and assays. The lab moved to Queen Mary in 2024. My recent interest is in accelerating directed evolution with AI and structural bioinformatics.
Project: Directed evolution of Photosystem II: high throughput directed evolution method development for light-driven biocatalysis, including CRISPR-based in vivo hypermutation systems, high throughput screening assays, evolution-informed structural modelling and phylogenetics for AI-guided directed evolution.
