January Entry

The School of Business and Management will be delivering postgraduate programmes in January to ensure that if you’re unable to join us in September due to delays or a change in personal circumstances, you have the opportunity to join a slightly later intake, rather than having to wait until September.

Guidance on specific questions you may have relating to starting your studies in January can be found on our website.

When is the deadline to apply for January programmes?

Please visit the key dates and deadlines page to find the full information.

Will I be able to stay in University accommodation?

We are delighted to say that postgraduate students joining Queen Mary in January 2021 will be guaranteed accommodation in one of our residences or one run by a partner.

Students who receive an offer of study will be emailed a link to register for accommodation upon accepting their place on the chosen degree programme and will be able to apply for accommodation via the applicant portal.

Most of our postgraduate accommodation is en-suite single bedrooms but there are a variety of options available depending on your budget. Our Residential Services and Support pages have further details of the available accommodation.

If you have any questions about the accommodation guarantee, please contact the Residences Team stating your name and application ID number.

How will learning and teaching work in January?

Our January 2021 programmes will continue to follow our innovative blended learning model, which has received excellent feedback from students who joined Queen Mary in September 2020.

Visit our website for further information on how to get the most out of your blended learning experience.

Will I be able to access the campus?

Yes, our campus has been open throughout the pandemic, and students are currently living in University accommodation both on and off campus. All our study spaces are open and we offer in-person student support, as well as social activities for students in line with current government guidelines.

Will I still be eligible for Student Finance Loan if I start in January?

I have been awarded a Scholarship for September 2020, can I use it for January 2021 instead?

If you hold another scholarship offer then you should check with your funder if they are willing to sponsor you for January entry.

What if I still can’t travel to London in January 2021 due to the pandemic?

We are currently planning to welcome you to our campus in person in January. If you can travel to join us on campus, please plan to do so. If you can’t, we will make sure you can fully access your education from wherever you are and will look forward to welcoming you in person as soon as your local restrictions are lifted.
