QMUL have partnered with CONICYT, the Chilean government's scholarship-awarding body, to co-fund PhDs across all subject areas. The applications for a CONICYT scholarship is separate to the application for admission to QMUL. Applicants must make two separate applications. For information Please refer QMUL CONICyt webpage.

The Ministry of Education of Peru, through the National Program of Scholarships and Educational Loans (PRONABEC) funds Peruvians to study for a Doctorate studies. Details can be found here.
Children of Alumni Award
The Children of Alumni Loyalty Award gives £1000 of year-1 overseas fees for children of international alumni. Details can be found here.
China Council Scholarship

The Mexican government runs the CONACyT scholarship scheme for Mexican nationals wishing to pursue PhD study at overseas institutions. To apply for this scheme applicants should refer to the CONACyT website and follow the application procedures.
Fulbright Commission
The Fulbright Commission scholarships available to US nationals looking to pursue PhD study. To apply for this scheme applicants should refer to the Fulbright Commission and follow the application procedures.
London Interdisciplinary Social Science DTP
The Economic & Social Research Council (ESRC) funds the London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (LISS DTP) for PhD or Masters+PhD study at Queen Mary. This DTP is in partnership with Kings College London and Imperial College.
It provides social science research students with a unique opportunity to join and develop a research community that springs from the interface between the social science disciplines with health and medicine, the natural and physical sciences, engineering, and the arts and humanities.
RCUK Research Studentships are usually restricted to Home and EU students researching particular subject areas. There is no separate application process for these awards. For further information please see here.
Marshall Scholarships
The Marshall scholarships is available to US nationals looking to pursue PhD study at UK institution in any field of study. To apply for this scheme applicants should refer to the Marshall Scholarships website and follow the application procedures.
Pakistan HEC-QMUL PhD Scholarships
The Higher Education Commission of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan runs a variety of scholarship schemes for Pakistani nationals wishing to pursue PhD study at overseas institutions.
QMUL partners with the HEC in one of these schemes – the 90% Overseas Scholarship scheme. To apply for this scheme applicants should refer to the HEC website and follow the application procedures. Details can be found on the HEC website.
Queen Mary Alumni Loyalty Award
The Alumni Loyalty Award is open to all Queen Mary graduates enrolling on a postgraduate degree programme who are self-funding at least £1000 of their tuition fees. Further details can be found here.
The Alan Turing Institute studentships
The Alan Turing Institute studentships are new for 2019, come with a generous stipend (£20,500/yr) and are available across 12 of our academic Schools and Institutes, all with a link to Data Science or Artificial Intelligence.

Self-funding a PhD
The School of Business and Management accepts applications from candidates intending to self-fund their PhD studies. Students whose fees are not paid directly to the university via a third party organisation are classed as self-funded. It should be noted that the School of Business and Management does not allow full-time PhD students to do paid work of more than six hours per week.
