Biography
Dr. Imran Ali is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Supply Chain Management at Queen Mary University of London. He holds a PhD in Supply Chain Management from Aberystwyth University in UK, where he was awarded the highly competitive Glyn Rowlands Doctoral Studentship. He also holds a MEng in Telecommunications from RMIT University in Australia. Prior to joining Queen Mary, Imran worked as a Senior Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Huddersfield and a Lecturer at Cranfield University, UK. He was also the Lead of Supply Chains and digital transformation in the Northern Productivity Hub.
Imran also has more than 5 years of diverse telecom industry consultancy experience in enterprise network solution designing for multinational global accounts at SIEMENS. He is a certified solution consultant by Siemens Germany.
Imran is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), UK and a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), UK.

Research Interests:
Dr. Imran’s multidisciplinary research interests are in the digitisation of supply chains, innovative operations management practices, management of technology and innovation. Imran’s research findings have been published in leading journals such as Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Production Research, Technovation and International Business Review.
Imran is recognised as an expert in his field and actively contributes to the academic community. He holds memberships in various international conferences. In addition to his scholarly contributions, Dr. Imran is committed to sharing his insights with a wider audience. He has authored practitioner articles based on his research for publications such as DHL, Sedex and Future Factory. Through these publications, he effectively disseminates his research and provides thought leadership to diverse policymakers and stakeholders.

- Risk Management in Globalised Supply Chain: Investigating the vulnerabilities in the supply chains and devising technological strategic shifts to mitigate the risks.
- Technological Impact on operations and across Supply Chain: Examining the transformative and disruptive role of Industry 5.0 technologies such as AI, ML, Big data analytics, Digital Twin and automation on addressing recent challenges of decarbonisation, Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) and data disclosure across the supply chains.
