Giorgos Galanis is a quantitative and mathematical political economist interested in questions related to sustainability, social justice, income distribution and health.

He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Warwick and a PhD in Mathematical Methods and Systems from City, University of London. Prior to this, he studied Finance and Development; and Mathematics in London and Athens.

Before joining Queen Mary, University of London, Giorgos was a Senior Lecturer in Economics at Goldsmiths, University of London and a Senior Research Economist at the New Economics Foundation. Outside of Queen Mary, Giorgos is an Associate Research Fellow at the Centre for Research in Economic Theory and its Applications (CRETA) at Warwick, a Research Associate at the Centre of Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA) at the Australian National University, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
