Research

Research Interests:

Yasmin has written and published extensively on the new media technologies and the digital economy. She is interested in exploring the socio-cultural frames within which digital platforms functions, adding to the turbulence and risk of our posthuman existence. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach and critical perspectives including critical race theory, her contribution on the reflections on digital economy seeks to deconstruct the ethical dimensions posed by new technologies in the incipient paradigms which narrate us as posthuman.

She has contributed to new paradigms on forced migration and the ways in which we manufacture alterity in society. Her research explores critical perspectives on Islam, race and inclusion/equality and visual culture.
