Biography

Jonas has a keen interest in European Union politics and policy, having previously led the EU politics coverage at a macro-economic research firm. He analysed the impact of EU policy on member states’ markets and guided the team’s view on the future direction of bloc-wide politics. Trained as an economist, he was also responsible for the coverage of major European markets such as Italy and Spain. His PhD project builds on this experience and explores the European policy-making landscape in more detail.

Jonas holds a BA (Hons) in International Relations from King’s College London and an MSc in Political Economy of Europe from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences. He also passed the CFA Level I in August 2023. His current research is funded by the Queen Mary University of London HSS Principal’s Research Studentship.
