Biography
Mamun Chowdhury is a distinguished economist and educator currently serving as a faculty member in the Department of Economics in Bangladesh. Known for his academic excellence and dedication to economic research, Mamun has developed expertise in economic policy, trade, and productivity analysis.
Mamun earned his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees in Economics from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, establishing a solid foundation in economic theory and applied research. Seeking to expand his knowledge and international experience, he pursued a second Master’s degree in Economics at Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom. Supported by the prestigious Commonwealth Shared Scholarship, Mamun completed this program in 2023, achieving distinctions.

Essays on Trade Policy, Innovation and Productivity Growth
Project description
My research will explore how various trade policies—such as tariffs, quotas, trade agreements and innovation activities influence firm-level and national economic outcomes. The goal could be to understand the direct and indirect effects of these policies on industries, especially those that are export-oriented or heavily rely on imported inputs.
