Student Support Advisors

Every undergraduate student in the School of Business and Management has a dedicated Student Advisor.

Our advisors are friendly, approachable, and trained to provide you with the support you need to thrive academically and personally. They offer a confidential and safe space for you to discuss any concerns or challenges you may encounter.

You'll have the opportunity to meet with your advisor during Welcome Week, and they also offer online drop-in sessions each semester in your advising group. Your advising group is made up of students in your year on your programme of study. You will keep your advising group and your advisor for the duration of your studies.

Get help with various matters, including academic guidance, wellbeing support, and connecting you with the right resources.

They can help you navigate options like applying for extenuating circumstances or changing your programme, connect you with the right resources for your questions, monitor your academic progress, and provide a reference for future opportunities. Additionally, if you simply want someone to talk to, your advisor is available to listen and offer support when you need it.

Discover a variety of mentoring options designed to support you.

The Buddy Scheme for settling into university life, Peer Assisted Study Support (PASS) for academic guidance, and QMentoring for career advice and industry insights.

The Buddy Scheme is here to help new undergraduate students settle into life at Queen Mary. Starting university can leave you with a lot of questions, many of which current students are the best equipped to answer.

Our mentors are trained to support incoming students socially and will work with you throughout the year to unburden some of your worries, help you to integrate into Queen Mary and make sure you truly enjoy your time here.

PASS is a course-based mentoring scheme, run for students by students. It gives first-years the opportunity to discuss study-related problems and get general advice from higher-year undergraduates in their subject.

QMentoring will pair you with a mentor with whom you can explore your career ideas, or if you are looking to acquire experience can help you gain a deeper understanding of a particular career or industry.
