Queen Mary University of London is delighted to introduce a new Masters Scholarship worth £3,000 for highly qualified postgraduate taught offer holders joining us in September 2025.
The scholarships are intended to support students who wish to enhance their skills and knowledge by undertaking a taught postgraduate masters programme of study at Queen Mary University of London.
The Scholarship is open to applications from all home students who hold an offer for an eligible postgraduate taught programme* for September 2025 and meet the following criteria:
- A home fee student who had previously been eligible for funding via the Students Loan Company
- Have achieved, or is predicted to achieve a 2:1 or above at undergraduate level
- Has applied for an eligible course for September 2025 Entry
- Not previously completed a postgraduate programme.
Priority will be given to students who also fulfil the following criteria:
- Eligible for the full maintenance grant/loan i.e. have a household income level of £42,875 or below in the final year of their undergraduate study as assessed by Student Finance England or equivalent. You will need to supply evidence to demonstrate this by uploading your Student Finance Entitlement letter or for current Queen Mary final-year undergraduate students you are in receipt of the Queen Mary Bursary.
- Reside in a Home (not university accommodation) in ACORN groups M, N, P, Q, R, S or U (you can check this here by entering your home postcode)
- You entered University at undergraduate level from a Care background / Care Leaver
- Can effectively demonstrate how you intend to use the scholarship to overcome any barriers, or contribute to the wider Queen Mary community

Terms and Conditions
- You must have achieved a high UK Upper Second Class (2:1) Bachelor’s degree. You will need to verify this at the point of application, or by the deadline supplied in your scholarship application outcome letter.
- This scheme is available only to students who apply for and enrol on an eligible course* taught at Queen Mary in the 2025/26 academic year with a September start. Scholarships cannot be deferred to subsequent years of study.
- Your fee status must have been confirmed as ‘Home’ by Queen Mary and must remain ‘Home’ throughout the programme.
- You must be enrolled on a full-time programme.
- You must not be in receipt of any other University fee reduction, scholarship or full-fee scholarship from any other source.
- If you are awarded the scholarship, it will be deducted directly from tuition fees payable to the University. You must be able to finance the remainder of your tuition fees and living expenses.
- The outcome of your scholarship application will be confirmed no later than mid-July 2025.
- In the event we receive more eligible applications for scholarships than we have awards available, scholarships will be further prioritised on degree classification achieved at undergraduate level and the date in which you submitted your application for the course.
- The scholarship is awarded by Queen Mary in line with the eligibility criteria and application requirements published above. We reserve the right to withdraw the scholarship if you become ineligible for the award.
