BUILDING THE BARRICADES: Three interdisciplinary studies on mental health and substance use disorders in the context of armed violence and COVID-19 in Rio de Janeiro
LINK TO OVERALL INVESTIGATION ON TERRITORY, PERFORMANCE AND RESILIENCE: this was the third stage of an ongoing collaboration with Maré Development Networks (Director: Eliana Sousa SILVA) about how urban violence affects public health in fragile territories such as Brazilian favelas. The focus throughout all stages of the investigation has been to understand the resources that the community and its residents find to build resilience and recovery. Throughout the investigation, HERITAGE has worked with Dr Sousa SILVA to build the capacity of community-based data production, knowledge creation and exchange through a variety of research instruments including creative practices.
