This multicomponent output is made up of three interlinked research investigations led by HERITAGE which sought to explore how performance-related arts practices can produce and mobilise knowledge about processes of resilience in territorial contexts of armed violence. The three different components explored different public health crises facing the community of Complexo da Maré: gender-based violence, public security and mental health and wellbeing. The interdisciplinary studies and creative practice-based methodologies generated new knowledge about challenges facing fragile and vulnerable territories, and produced new narratives whilst ensuring that the research insights continue to register in the community that was the subject of the studies.
