Profile
I am a PhD candidate and teaching associate in Drama at Queen Mary University of London. My PhD thesis explores different forms of political performance onstage and offstage to demonstrate how historical and contemporary sociopolitical issues inform creative and mundane performances in Berlin, Germany. I presented part of my ongoing research in the Political Performances Working Group at the 2022 IFTR conference. My broader research interests include political philosophy, political potential of performance curating, sociology of theatre and performance, and audiences. When I am not reading, writing, researching, teaching, and spectating, I am hiking in the woods and the mountains. You can follow me on Twitter @hbschulte.
