Staff from the School of Economics and Finance (SEF) have been recognised at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Awards, with five awards going to colleagues across professional services, education, and research.
Professional Services Awards:
The Award for Education Support was presented to the Undergraduate and Professional Services Team, led by Sarah Riley, alongside Claire Cooper, Heather Heiner, Lokuj Jaman, and Elena Georgiou. This team was recognized for their outstanding commitment to consistently supporting students throughout their academic journey.
The Award for Digital Engagement/Digital Learning was awarded to Marissa Bidwell, The Apprenticeship Team within the School of Economics and Finance, and Shahnaz Shahid. Their excellence in developing Faculty-wide digital learning opportunities and practices was highly commended.
Maha Anis received the Award for Student Support Officer for her exceptional dedication to the care, support, and management of students’ expectations throughout their academic journey.
Education Award:
The Economics Master's Apprenticeship Programme (EMAP) Team, including Prof Roberto Veneziani, Prof Francis Breedon, Dr Rachel Male, Dr Alfonsina Iona, Prof David Hart, Rachel Henry, Marissa Bidwell, Joseph Okitikpi, and Shahnaz Shahid, was honored with the Award for Excellence in Accessibility. They were recognized for successfully integrating digital accessibility into their teaching practices.
Research Award:
Dr. Cristina Gualdani was awarded the Award for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) for her notable achievements, including publications and a revise and resubmit in highly ranked journals in 2022/23. Additionally, she was acknowledged for her excellence in refereeing and securing a six-figure ESRC grant.
