Profile

Michel is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at University of Essex. Previous to Essex he was at University of Toronto. He holds a Phd from Berkeley, is a Research Fellow at IZA, CESifo, CReAM and an Associate Editor at the Economic Journal.

His primary research and teaching fields are Labour, Regional and Environmental Economics. Some of his research is at the intersection of his primary fields and Political Economy. He studies the causes and the consequences of differences across space in both labour market and environmental outcomes.

During his visit he will focus on projects about rust belt areas, demand for green skills, and fossil fuel communities.
