Dr Yi TANG

Profile

Dr. Yi TANG was appointed as the Chinese Director of QUML Confucius Institute in 2021 and served as the BUPT Teaching Affairs Office Associate Director from 2018 to 2021.

The Confucius Institute makes an important contribution to Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). It strengthens and deepens the cooperation between BUPT and QMUL by enhancing academic collaboration and joint research. As the Chinese Director, Yi TANG's role is to liaise with the team and manage a range of routine administrations for the Confucius Institute, including curriculum design, programme amendment, deployment of teaching staff, and quality assurance. She is also responsible for liaison with external stakeholders.

Before her appointment at Confucius Institute, Dr. Yi TANG was the Associate Director of Teaching Affairs Office, responsible for the undergraduate programmes reviews, curriculums design, teaching and learning consultation, and assessment administration. She also served in Beijing Municipal Commission of Education in 2017.

Dr. Yi TANG is a fellow researcher for the Capital Engineering Education Research Center. She has undertaken institutional research to provide consultation for institutional planning, policy postulation and implementation, and decision-making for the university. She has completed over 10 research projects sponsored by Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and Beijing Academy of Education Sciences.

She obtained BBA in Human Resource Management, M.Ed. and PhD (ABD) in Higher Education Management from Peking University. She also has the Teacher Qualification Certificate for Higher Education PRC.
