SAVANT project launches open-source lexicon repository

Published:

Colleagues working on the SAVANT project have launched LexiVault, a free and open-source repository for psycholinguistics lexicons of lesser-studied languages.

LexiVault, which is available here, is an open-source web tool with annotated lexicons and rich retrieval capabilities primarily developed for, but not restricted to, the support of psycholinguistic research with key measures to design stimuli for low-resource languages.

The repository currently covers both Tagalog and Modern Standard Arabic. Hind Saddiki, Samantha Wray, Daisy Li have published a proceedings paper which introduces the tool, available here, from the 2024 Joint International Conference on Computational Linguistics, Language Resources and Evaluation (LREC-COLING 2024).

SAVANT is primarily funded by the ESRC with additional support from the NeLLab operating grant. The project is a collaboration between QMULUvL and NYUAD.
