For 2025 Catalonia has become the first European region to be chosen as the World Region of Gastronomy by the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts, and Tourism (IGCAT).
To commemorate this unique distinction, the Centre for Catalan Studies has invited Jaume Mora Pedrós to Queen Mary for a celebration of cuisine from Catalan-speaking areas.
Jaume Mora Pedrós is an economist and data strategist, with expertise in operating models, organisation design and development of business cases. Jaume focuses on building market opportunities and spotting the ‘blue ocean’, as well as innovation and FoodTech.
His talk will cover topics such as the Mediterranean diet, the cuisine of Catalan speaking territories and economic value of its produce, farming and foraging, and the role of food in economic and cultural diplomacy.
The talk will be followed by a food and wine tasting of Catalan products. Admission is free but, for obvious reasons, tickets are limited. Be sure to book via Eventbrite to avoid disappointment.
